Welcome to my January Newsletter!

This month in my newsletter, I want to talk about two procedures at my practice that a few patients have been thoroughly enjoying, but many don’t know are available here.

You might have heard of laser resurfacing before? It can help you with many dermatological and cosmetic skin conditions such as:

  • Acne scars,
  • Brown spots or
  • Fine line

The mechanism is by creating a pixelated column of coagulated (liquefied) soft tissue that is replaced by new fresh tissue. This process produces new collagen and elastin; the main components of healthy skin.

The great news is that this collagen and elastin production will continue for up to 6 to 9 months, meaning your skin rejuvenation results will continue to improve over time.

My patients usually don’t report any major discomfort and this is because the Palomar laser has a unique sapphire-cooling tip that cools the skin before, during and after each pulse light, making the treatment comfortable to most people.

Most patients describe the treatment as having a mild “snapping” sensation or sunburn sensation.

An effective treatment regimen is 3 to 5 sessions, spaced about 3 to 4 weeks apart. Optimal improvement after fractional treatment is usually visible in about 2 – 3 months as collagen remodelling and skin tightening continues

Another NEW treatment option – SILKPEEL

SilkPeel™… is a new, dual approach that works in conjunction with Microdermabrasion to simultaneously exfoliate dead skin cells while infusing the skin with hydration-boosters to stimulate new cell growth.

We can even out your skin tone and fight acne and wrinkles. It’s gentle, painless and safe for any skin type. It is also a great treatment to perform just before a social engagement. Your skin feels softer and smoother immediately and makeup will go on much more evenly.

SilkPeel combines precision exfoliation with Dermal Infusion. The diamond treatment head exfoliates while delivering topical specific nutrients into the skin at controlled intensity. This stimulates new cell growth.

It is a fantastic option to give your skin maximum radiance to start the new year feeling brand new and beautiful!

Whatkind of SilkPeel results can I expect?

  • Evening of surface pigmentation,
  • Increased smoothness,
  • Improved natural glow and radiance.
  • Patients with acne can expect reduced acne and blackheads, and softening of mild acne scars.

SilkPeelDermalinfusion® stimulates skin to produce collagen by removing surface abnormalities and allowing better penetration of prescribed skin treatments. Additional improvement is obtained with the application of specific treatment solutions.

All skin types may be treated with SilkPeel™. SilkPeel has specific dermaceuticals for hydrating, lightening and acne.

If you are specifically looking to target these issues or even if you are looking to give your skin a gorgeous New Year makeover, Silk Peel is the perfect treatment for you!

With Silk Peel, results are seen gradually over the treatment series although you will see improvement after the first treatment.

The results last for several months or longer. Because the procedure is so easy and convenient many patients choose to haveongoing Silk Peel treatment to maintain best results.

We have many patients who have regular Sikpeel treatments as part of their skin care programme.

The whole of January you will get to know my 1540 Palomar laser as well as the Silk Peel treatment which have both been such hits in 2013! If you have experience either of these or maybe both, please do leave a message we always like to know what you think!

I hope you enjoy this newsletter and remember to visit my website and my Facebook page for more info on all the procedures I perform!
